Due to challenges with insufficient LPG cylinders in Nigeria and the subsidy regime being no longer sustainable.
Brio has proposed the LPG Cylinder exchange program to the Nigerian Govt.
When implemented the scheme will supply 40 million cylinders for free distribution to Nigerians thereby subsidizing the otherwise expensive entry to LPG.
The Subsidy Regime subsidizes consumption but this scheme aims to subsidize “entry” leading to the stimulation of latent demand estimated at over 1.2 million tons (World Bank 2002 CISS study) a 1000% increase from the present 140,000 tons (2012 estimate) per annum level.
Brio is pioneering the use of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) for the development of 20MW Embedded Power Plants for a DISCO in Lagos State.
LPG is the preferred fuel due to its portability and high calorific content with LHV close to Natural Gas, in addition to its clean burning qualities.
